These terms and conditions govern your use of The Day You Arrived website at thedayyouarrived.com and the purchase of generated pages through our service.
By using our service and completing a purchase, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

The Service
The Day You Arrived is a digital service that generates personalised birthday pages about what the world was like on the day someone was born. You provide recipient details (name, date, city) and optional personal context, and we generate a unique page featuring an AI-written narrative and snapshot facts from that date.
Pricing and Payment
Each generated page is a one-time purchase. The current price is displayed on our website at the time of purchase. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
Prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD). If you pay in a different currency, your bank or payment provider may apply their own conversion rate and fees.
A payment receipt is issued automatically by our payment processor (Stripe) upon purchase. If you require a formal invoice — for example, for business expense purposes — please contact us at hello@thedayyouarrived.com within 5 days of purchase with your billing details (name or company name, address, and tax identification number where applicable).
Digital Product — Immediate Delivery and Right of Withdrawal
By completing your purchase, you expressly consent to the immediate generation and delivery of your personalised digital page. You acknowledge that, as the digital content is fully delivered upon purchase, you waive your right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and its transposition into Portuguese law under Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014.
No refunds are provided as standard. If you experience a technical issue that prevents your page from being generated or displayed correctly, contact us at hello@thedayyouarrived.com and we will resolve the issue or offer a refund at our discretion.
AI-Generated Content
The narrative text and snapshot facts on your generated page are produced by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain factual inaccuracies, anachronisms, or errors.
The Day You Arrived does not guarantee the historical accuracy of any information presented on generated pages. Generated pages are intended as personalised entertainment and gifts, not as historical reference material.
Personal Data and AI Processing
To generate your page, the personal details you provide (recipient name, date, city, and any optional context) are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for narrative generation. This data is used solely to produce your requested page and is not stored by the AI provider beyond the duration of the request.

Generated Page Content and Intellectual Property
Each generated page is unique to your order. You are granted a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to view, share, and reproduce your generated page for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell generated pages or use them for commercial purposes.
The underlying technology, design, layout, and branding of The Day You Arrived remain our intellectual property.
We reserve the right to remove any generated page from our servers at any time.
Sharing and Public Accessibility
Generated pages are accessible via a unique URL. Anyone with the URL can view the page. By sharing your page URL, you acknowledge that the content — including the recipient's name, date, and personalised narrative — will be visible to anyone who accesses that link.
We are not responsible for how third parties use content from shared page URLs.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our service to:
- Generate content that is offensive, defamatory, or harmful
- Submit personal details of others without their knowledge for malicious purposes
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically access our service
- Resell or commercially exploit generated pages
We reserve the right to refuse service and remove any generated page that violates these terms.
Service Discontinuation
We may discontinue The Day You Arrived at any time. If we choose to do so, we will make reasonable efforts to notify purchasers via email at least 30 days before removing their pages, giving them the opportunity to save their content. Where possible, we will provide a downloadable copy of the generated page before it is removed.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Day You Arrived shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to inaccuracies in AI-generated content.
Our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for that specific generated page.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
